At Ashes On The Bay we offer private memorial services for scattering ashes on San Francisco Bay. We can accommodate small groups of family and friends up to 6 guests total. Our caring staff is here to support you every step of the way.

Accompanied Ash Scattering Service

We offer a peaceful and respectful way to scatter ashes at sea. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the San Francisco Bay, our services are designed for those wishing to bid their loved ones a meaningful and tranquil farewell. Whether you desire a simple ash scattering ceremony on the water or a more personalized memorial we will help to guide you through each step with compassion.

  • 1 1/2 hr. Charter aboard Kindred Spirits our 36 ft. Islander Sailing Yacht.
  • The ash scattering services take place on San Francisco Bay near the Golden Gate Bridge or a nearby place of your choosing within the Bay.
  • Includes experienced USCG licensed Captain and Crew.
  • Up to 6 family members and friends.
  • Complimentary soft drinks & bottled water.
  • Does not include Ash Scattering Permit.

Accompanied Service Cost: $595.00

Unaccompanied Ash Scattering Service

On occasion family members are not able to attend the ash scattering service and request that we honor their loved with a dignified memorial service and our staff will perform the ash scattering service on their behalf. Unaccompanied ash scattering services involve shipping your loved ones ashes to us. The unaccompanied ash scatterings are typically performed within two weeks of receipt. We we will notify you by phone on the day we go out on the water and send you a certificate showing the coordinates of the location where the service was performed.

Scheduling an Ash Scattering At Sea

  • Attended ash scattering charters are offered twice daily, at 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM, and last approximately 90 minutes. When possible, we prefer morning charters, as wind conditions on San Francisco Bay are generally milder.
  • For assistance scheduling an ash scattering service and requesting available dates, please call or message us using the web form below, and we'll help you plan and schedule your memorial service.
  • Kindred Spirits, our 36 ft. Islander Sailing Yacht, is roomy and comfortable above and below deck and can easily accommodate 6 guests comfortably.
