Yes, all our ash scattering charters are private for groups up to 6 persons plus our crew. We encourage you to pray, share stories and memories, bring music. and spend the time remembering the happiness you shared with your love one.
Yes, People often place flowers or rose petals on the water after the ash scattering.
We typically do the Ash scattering in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge, but if you have a special place on the Bay you prefer, we will try to accommodate you.

Typically the surviving spouse or the next of kin will disperse the ashes. We can do it at the request of the family.
All of our charters are limited to six passengers max. No Exceptions. Our Coast Guard license limits our maximum passenger capacity to six guests. Kindred Spirits our 36 ft. Islander Sailing Yacht is roomy and comfortable above and below deck and can easily accommodate 6 guests comfortably.
Yes, however; In order to ensure we have properly fitting safety equipmet for all passengers, We have a minimum age limit of 6 years old on all our sailing charters. No one under 6 years old is allowed.
The San Francisco Bay Area usually has year round good weather but occasionally we get a rainy day. We constantly monitor the weather and will check in with you regarding the forecast for your trip. If it is going to rain, we can reschedule for another day or better time. Groups with people from out of town may want to go out anyway, if that's the case we will try to accommodate you but safety is paramount and it may not be possible.
We suggest warm comfortable clothing and a warm waterproof jacket. Please wear soft-soled shoes such as deck shoes or sneakers; no heels or leather soled or black soled shoes please.
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and beverages. Wine is ok, However: please No Red Wine. We will provide soft drinks, bottled water and chips. If you bring your own foods we suggest lite fare one handed foods such as sandwiches and finger foods as they’re easiest to eat on the boat. We have a limited assortment of cups, plates, cutlery and napkins on board so, please bring your own to be sure you have everything you’ll need.
